When you top up again, you often receive a top-up bonus; this is a bundle with a lot of free calling minutes, texting and mobile data that you can use up for 30 or 31 days. Many SIM only deals offer the possibility of making 'unlimited' calls, sending text messages or using data. Usually, a Fair Use Policy is applied to this. The normal user will hardly ever be restrained by such an FUP. The only purpose of the FUP is to prevent gross abuse of the service. For example, you may not use this type of subscription to set up machine-to-machine communication services or run call centre-like activities. For that sort of thing, you are better off contracting other types of business subscriptions.
